Blee, a marketing compliance software startup, raised $27 million in seed and Series A financing, founder and CEO Guy Shahar tells Axios exclusively.
Why it matters: AI is making it easier for financial companies to produce marketing content, but compliance review remains heavily manual.
Follow the money: Fin Capital and SMBC led the $20 million Series A. The $7 million seed hasn't been previously announced. Other investors include Hannah Grey VC, National Bank of Canada, Y Combinator, Penny Jar Capital, Cardumen Capital and Treasury.
How it works: Blee connects with the tools financial services companies use to create and manage everything from digital ads and social media posts to videos and affiliate content. It checks materials against regulatory requirements, internal policies and approved claims before they are published. It also monitors content after publication and maintains an audit trail showing which rules or documents triggered a compliance concern. Blee can automatically approve certain materials, allowing compliance teams to focus on content that requires closer scrutiny.
